Revolutionize Your Clinic's Online Presence with ChatGPT

In today’s ever-evolving digital landscape, advancements in AI and search capabilities are reshaping how businesses attract and engage with their audiences. One of the most significant developments comes from ChatGPT’s latest updates, which introduce new ways for clinics, like chiropractic practices, to improve their online visibility and streamline marketing efforts. Let’s explore these game-changing features and how they can elevate your clinic’s marketing strategy.

The Evolution of Search

We're witnessing two parallel trends: AI tools like ChatGPT are becoming more search-engine-like, while search engines like Google are incorporating AI-driven conversational features. During OpenAI's recent "Ship-mas" event, they announced significant updates to ChatGPT Search that could impact how healthcare practices approach their online presence.

Local Search Integration

ChatGPT's new Local Search feature enables users to find nearby businesses with map and list displays. For healthcare providers, this means:

  • Enhanced visibility in ChatGPT's search results, similar to Google's local pack
  • Direct patient engagement through one-tap calling and website visits
  • Potential future integration of review systems

Improved Business Visibility

The update introduces visually appealing cards for specific business searches, featuring logos and direct website links. This enhancement helps practices build trust and stand out in search results.

Real-Time Data Integration

ChatGPT's live mode with Search integration offers healthcare providers:

  • Ability to track and respond to current health trends and local events
  • Real-time content creation addressing immediate community needs
  • Enhanced patient interaction capabilities

Future Advertising Potential

While not yet available, ChatGPT's card-style search results could eventually incorporate sponsored listings, similar to Google Ads. This may present new opportunities for targeted patient acquisition.

Action Steps for Healthcare Practices

  1. Optimize Your Digital Presence
    • Maintain accurate information across all online platforms
    • Ensure website and directory listings are up-to-date
  2. Stay Informed
    • Keep track of ChatGPT's Local Search developments
    • Watch for new advertising opportunities
  3. Leverage AI Tools
    • Use AI for content creation and website optimization
    • Explore patient outreach strategies

Looking Ahead

The convergence of AI and search is creating new opportunities for healthcare practices to connect with potential patients. By understanding and adapting to these changes, practices can position themselves effectively in this evolving digital landscape.

Take time to explore ChatGPT's capabilities by asking questions about your services to better understand its display and search features. This hands-on experience will help you optimize your practice's online presence for both traditional search engines and emerging AI platforms.

Podcast Transcript - AI Meets Local Search: Game-Changing Updates for Clinic Marketing

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Clinic Marketing Podcast. I'm your host, Darcy Sullivan, with Propel Marketing and Design. Today, we're diving into a topic that's reshaping the world of search and online marketing and how it can directly impact your clinic's business.

We're going to discuss how the latest updates to ChatGPT's search capabilities can help you attract more patients, streamline your marketing efforts, and stay ahead of this ever-evolving digital landscape. Now let's start with a little bit of context.

You've been keeping your eye on the tech world. You've probably noticed the Googleization of ChatGPT and the ChatGPTization of Google Search, meaning that you will see how AI tools like ChatGPT are coming more like search engines while search engines are evolving and adapting to become more AI-driven and offer conversational features.

This is absolutely fascinating if you ask me, and recently, ChatGPT has announced some really groundbreaking updates to their search features. So Today we're going to look at what does that mean for you as a clinic owner maybe you're a chiropractor, a physical therapist, acupuncturist, whatever this is a good introduction to you, for you and how chat VPT is changing and how we're really starting to see SEO search engine optimization evolve.

Now do I feel that the vast majority of the people tomorrow are going to start using ChatGPT to search for local businesses. No, but as we just mentioned, chatgpt and the AI factor is changing the way that Google is displaying information, and vice versa, so it really is a good idea for you to stay on top of understanding how this works.

So one of the most exciting updates is ChatGPT's new local search feature. This allows users to search for local businesses, like chiropractors, and see results displayed on a map or in a list format. For example, if someone searches chiropractor near me, ChatGPT can now display local listings complete with business information and direct links to call or visit that company's website. Here's why this matters to you. One visibility With the new feature, your practice can appear in ChatGPT's search results similar to how it might show up in Google's local pack, that's, the map pack that's controlled by your Google business profile listing.

This increases your chance to be discovered by potential patients. Also, direct engagement Users can tap your listing to call your office or visit your website directly. This reduces the friction in a patient's journey and makes it easier for people to book an appointment in a patient's journey and makes it easier for people to book an appointment.

But there's more. Currently, reviews are not yet integrated into ChatGPT's local search, but that could change soon and if it does, maintaining a positive online reputation would become even more critical than ever.

Another note in updates for ChatGPT involves navigational queries, where someone searches for a specific business or website. Chatgpt now highlights prominent brands or businesses with visibility-appealing cards. Imagine someone searching for your clinic name and seeing a polished, branded card with your logo and direct links to your website.

This kind of branding can really help you stand out in a crowd. Another interesting aspect is the fact that ChatGPT now has a live mode with search. This feature allows ChatGPT to access real-time data. This means you can leverage live mode to track the latest trends, local events and health topics.

Remember when ChatGPT first came out and it had limited data? Not only did it have limited data, but it was limited data from previous time periods. Now it can showcase real-time data. Chatgpt's live mode can also enhance how you interact with your audience. Imagine using this technology to answer patients' questions in real-time or keep your website content fresh and relevant.

Now, as of yet, there are no advertising opportunities on ChatGPT, but let's keep in mind that could also change in the future. These kinds of updates allow for potential advertising opportunities. Again, these aren't currently in motion, but it is something that we could see in the future.

Let's go over a couple examples. I went to ChatGPT, and I asked it a few things and, based on what I asked it, I got very different responses. So the first question I said to chat GPT is who's the best chiropractor near me? And chat GPT gave kind of a general response, something that it probably would have given previously.

It basically basically said to you I'm going to paraphrase here, but it said to find your best chiropractor near you, I'll need to know your location. Alternatively, you can use these tips check their Google business profile referrals, consider specialization, their creditization. And then it said let me know your location or zip code and I can look up some highly recommended chiropractors in your area.

So I gave it my zip code and it said based on your zip code, here are some highly recommended chiropractors in your area. Now the listings that it gave for the chiropractors in my area. Interestingly enough, if I click on the link that's included, it takes me directly to the Google Maps, the Google Business Profile listing, for the chiropractor listed there. Well, it gives me the map listing which showcases that one, along with some of the others that are recommended.

Now for the example that we were previously talking about, about those cards style advertisements. I then started my search kind of over again with Chachi PC and I said I'm looking for a chiropractor in the business highlights and it has the ability to get directions. The directions links to the Google Maps direction to go to their website or to call them. So this is definitely very interesting. It also cites the sources that it used to pull that information. This is all great and dandy, but what does this mean for you, for helping your business?

Well, this just goes to show that SEO is more important now than ever before. You want to make sure that you truly optimize your online presence, just as you would optimize for Google's local search. You want to make sure that your practice information is accurate and compelling across all platforms. This includes your website, your social media and your other online directories. The last thing that you want to do is have conflicting information, whether it's an address, a phone number or information about the services that you offer. You also want to monitor developments.

We don't know what the future holds, but we do know that ChatGPT could offer different search capabilities for local search and potentially advertising options in the future and also we want to embrace AI tools.

So one of the biggest takeaways here is that I would suggest to you block out five minutes a week and go to chat GPT and play with it, asking for a chiropractor in your zip code. If you're a chiropractor, or chiropractor near you, depending on what services your business offers, your clinic offers do a search on Google to see what shows up, and do a search also in ChatGPT. This is going to help you understand the way that it displays information better.
