What is AI & What AI Tools Will Help My Clinic?

Using artificial intelligence for SEO can help analyze data, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights that are time-consuming, challenging, or even impossible to discover manually.

For clinics, AI-powered SEO tools offer a competitive advantage by transforming how you approach digital marketing.

Why your clinic should embrace AI for SEO:

  • Enhanced efficiency: AI streamlines time-intensive tasks like keyword research, content optimization, and performance analytics, freeing your staff to focus on patient care
  • Superior data analysis: AI tools process vast datasets to deliver more accurate predictions about patient search behavior and identify high-value keyword opportunities specific to your specialty
  • Seamless scalability: Even smaller clinics can implement enterprise-level SEO strategies as AI handles complex data processing without requiring additional personnel

AI tools for your SEO needs:

  • Content creation: ChatGPT, Claude, and Jasper help generate accurate content that resonates with patients
  • Content optimization: Surfer SEO, MarketMuse, and Frase analyze top-performing content to guide your optimization strategy
  • Trend analysis: BuzzSumo identifies trending topics and content formats in your specialty
  • Keyword intelligence: Ubersuggest discovers valuable search terms your potential patients are using

These AI-powered techniques will not only enhance your clinic’s online visibility but will ultimately help connect more patients with the quality care you provide.

How to Use AI for SEO

Using AI for your clinic’s SEO is super simple. Think of how you’ve been asking Google questions for years; it’s very similar. Now, though, you have a machine that’s able to give incredibly detailed and specific responses to incredibly specific questions and comments.

Let us explain…

You can use AI for SEO to:

  • Brainstorm content ideas
  • Ask for keywords used in your area related to your industry
  • Learn more about your target audience
  • Get outlines for content, including blog posts and social media posts
  • Check your backlinks and site performance
  • Get advice on how to improve your website or a content piece
  • Find out more about your competition’s performance
  • Enhance your page and post titles
  • And, oh, so much more

Intriguing, right?

Let’s break this down a bit further…

Using AI for Keyword Research

Okay, so we all know by now that your keywords are imperative to how your users find you and how Google knows to push you through as a result of a patient’s query.

But sometimes keyword research takes a lot of time and resources you don’t want to expend. While some of the free versions of AI don’t have access to keyword search volume, they can still help determine the best words for your clinic. Of course, not all will be winners, but you can test them out if you think they can benefit your ideal patient.

Example prompt: “Give me a list of keywords about sciatica.”

Here are more ways to use AI for effective keyword research:

  • Ask for long-tail keywords; these are phrases your users use and typically have lower search volume. Example prompt: “Give me a list of long-tail keywords about how chiropractic adjustments help with neck pain.”
  • Ask for keywords related to your target keywords. Example prompt: “Give me a list of keywords related to the keyword ‘back pain.’”
  • Ask for keyword synonyms or keywords that are semantically related to your keywords. Example prompt: “Generate a list of synonyms and semantically related keywords for ‘whiplash,’ including medical terms, legal terminology, and colloquial expressions.”

These prompts will help you create excellent content that your users are searching for and that Google can deliver because it understands your page so well.

Using AI for Content Strategy Research

Your content strategy streamlines your writing process. It saves time and maximizes efficiency. It also ensures you’re not writing on one topic too much and forgetting others. Why is this important?

When you have too many pages with the same topic and keyword, you compete with yourself, and neither page gets the number of views it could. And when you forget about other topics, well… you can’t rank for them, so you miss opportunities to reach more patients.

Create a content strategy to avoid falling victim to this.

Example prompt: “Give a list of content topics related to massage therapy techniques and how they work with physical therapy.”

Using AI for Content Creation

We cannot stress enough that AI is SO GOOD to HELP with content creation. That said, it is NOT intended to be the only part of your content creation strategy.

Meaning: DO NOT ask AI to write a 600-word blog post about getting acupuncture for back pain, and then copy and paste that response to your blog.

There are numerous issues with doing this, including:

  • If 500 other acupuncturists ask ChatGPT the same question, they will all get the same (or very close to the same) response. This is very bad because it looks like plagiarism, and Google will not provide your blog post as a search result, and you will lose credibility with the search engines and your potential patients by default.
  • It is incredibly basic. Your content must be executed in a way that delivers a connection, a personality, a level of humanism that requires a human touch.
  • It has none of your unique voice, offerings, internal linking, testimonials, etc. Every piece of content you create must have unique details related to you and your clinic. AI cannot write unique content. It gets all of its content from previously written content.

What you CAN use AI for when creating content is more general but still incredibly useful.

Create Content Outlines

This option is excellent, especially when first starting a website or blog and needing to get some content up quickly.

Using content outlines help you navigate an engaging content piece. It will provide specific questions and details related to your prompt.

It will detail things like:

  • An introduction and what should be discussed in this content block
  • Several content blocks to follow the intro, offering a header and ideas to include within each block
  • A conclusion with what should be addressed to finalize the post and possible CTAs (calls to action, such as “Book Now” or “Contact us today”)

Example prompt: “Create a content outline for a blog post about how chiropractic care can help your pet.”

Create Content Templates

Sticking to a template allows you to save effort in designing a whole content piece, including headers, bullet points, content blocks, etc., but it still gives you the opportunity to add your unique and relevant information.

This process works much like the content outline, providing content recommendations, placement, ideas, and more.

Example prompt: “Create a content template for a webpage about laser therapy in a chiropractic setting.”

Now, if you have content on your site that is not used for ranking, feel free to utilize most of what AI gives you, but be sure to add the necessary information.

For example, if you have a “Terms and Conditions” page or an “About Us” page, you may be able to copy a lot of what AI provides.

Tips for Using AI for Content

Below are suggested tips for using AI:

  • In every case, be sure you always review, edit, and fact-check your AI responses prior to pushing them live
  • Rewrite content with your tone and voice
  • Ensure your content is speaking to your target audience
  • Add backlinks whenever possible

Using AI to Write Meta Titles & Descriptions

Your meta title is the blue clickable link on the search results page, and your meta description is the copy directly under it. This information is designed to get the user to click on it and go to your page.

Easy enough.

However, many clinic owners don’t create these things and allow Google to do it for them, which isn’t ideal. Google will likely just use the name and first sentence of your content and call it a day.

Use AI to develop a more engaging (clickable) meta title and description.

Example prompt: “Create a meta title and description for a blog post called ‘Naturally treating lumbar pain with massage therapy.’”

Using AI to Edit, Proofread, Optimize, & Improve Content

This header covers many things that all boil down to providing your audience with the best possible content.

If your page visitor notices a missing apostrophe or a “there” rather than a “their,” you may have lost a new patient. But if that content isn’t optimized well, they likely didn’t see it anyway. And if the content is written poorly to begin with, optimizing doesn’t really matter.

After you write a content piece, drop it into AI and ask these example prompts:

  • “Improve this content piece to engage with my audience better.”
  • “Did I miss any SEO opportunities in this blog post?”
  • “Proofread this content for grammar and spelling.”
  • “Edit this content to read smoothly.”

Using AI for YouTube Descriptions & Email Campaigns

If you have a YouTube channel and want to quickly create an excellent video description, now you can–with AI.

Example prompt: “Use SEO best practices to create a YouTube video description for my video about the best stretches to do at your office while sitting.

If you want to send out an email reminding your patients about a seminar you’re providing at your clinic, now you can–with AI.

Example prompt: “Create an email for my current patients about a workshop I’m hosting for runners at my chiropractic clinic.”

These are two terrific ways to generate optimized content for your patients and visitors.

After AI provides the copy, input details that make it your own if needed, and be sure to stick to your tone.

Don’t like what was provided, but it has all the essential info? No problem. Copy and paste it back in and ask it to be modified to meet your needs.

Example prompt: “Rewrite this with bullet points and make it more concise overall, but keep all the relevant information in.”
